Since the advent of the Apple Macintosh computer in 1984, the rapid flow of technological change and progress in graphic design has affected the international world of visual communication, in one way or another. Since the start of this digital revolution, most graphic design communities around the world have succeeded in maintaining their national identities, while implementing the technological changes into their industries, hence joining the global world of graphic design. During this global digital revolution, various political, social and technological circumstances have resulted in the Iranian graphic design arena being left uninhabited for more than two decades. However, during the last ten years a new generation of Iranian graphic designers has emerged. Keen to define their lost identity, this generation has already made giant leaps toward joining the global graphic design arena.
